Crash Murphy

Crash Murphy was my late aunt Meigan Murphree’s band in the 80’s and 90’s. Sadly for me, she passed away before I was a person and got a chance to get to know her. Yet her music and her memory lives on thanks to my father and his siblings who shared fond memories of her and her creative spirit. In high school I took the time to go through each of my father’s old cassettes to find my taste in music, and in that stack I found one cassette of a live show of hers.

It wasn’t until 2016 that I took it upon myself to start a little pet project, the end goal being to make an album for my father and my family and to make her music available for all. With some work and a lot of help from others I was able to take that cassette and convert it digitally. From there I turned it into a double record LP with art work. I was able to make a copy for him and all of his siblings.

Please enjoy the music. Please share the music. And help me share the memory.
